TMC assures 24/7 interventional neuroradiologist coverage

Tucson Medical Center and Radiology Ltd. are working together to provide 24-hour-a-day coverage by interventional neuroradiologists for the TMC Emergency Department and hospital units.

Three Radiology Ltd. physicians are spearheading the continuous coverage:

  • Andrew Gyorke, M.D.
  • David Jeck, M.D.
  • Creed Rucker, M.D.

All three are board-certified specialists in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology, senior members of the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery, and experienced in intracranial angioplasty, intracranial stenting and endovascular treatment of aneurysms. Radiologists with expertise in diagnostic neuroradiology are specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of disease processes affecting the brain, head/neck region, and spine. They provide expert interpretation of CT and MRI images of these areas, and also have extensive experience in myelography, angiography, and spinal injection procedures.

With round-the-clock interventional neuroradiology, neurology and neurosurgery coverage, combined with certification as a Primary Stroke Center, TMC now fulfills the current requirements of a Comprehensive Stroke Center. TMC is uniquely equipped to care for patients with complex ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes requiring specialized endovascular or neurosurgical treatment.
