“I Choose Community” – Example #1 at TMC

Every day, members of the TMC family exhibit the organizational values identified by TMC employees (Dedication, Compassion, Integrity, Community).  Those daily deeds are among the reasons people ‘Choose Well’ when they choose TMC.

To celebrate examples of employees who choose to demonstrate these values, TMC has launched an internal campaign highlighting some individual efforts.  Here’s a case in point for this week:

Neil Lautaret, director of Facilities and Plant Services, and Greg Harris, carpenter and community service liaison in Plant Services, have participated in a lot of building projects, but building community relationships is the most rewarding part of the job.

As Neil notes, “We support the community in multiple ways.  We supported over 30 events last year.”

Each year the staff in Facilities will adopt families that need some special support, especially around the holidays.  In addition to other fundraising activities, Neil says, “we have golf tournaments down in Benson every year, and the proceeds go to the families.”

The team also devotes a lot of manpower to community causes all year, including essentially full-time support by Greg.  “I love Be Safe Saturday,” he says.  “It’s a great event, and it’s just a great thing to be a part of.” Another favorite is the community’s Bike in a Box program, which offers new bicycles to hundreds of youngsters.

Both men join in encouraging all members of the Facilities Team to think community first.
