“I Choose Community” – A third example at TMC

The organizational values identified by TMC employees (Dedication, Compassion, Integrity, Community) are among the reasons people ‘Choose Well’ when they choose TMC. Here’s the latest example from TMC’s internal campaign celebrating employees who “choose Community”

Kristin Wook has worked in TMC’s Emergency Department since 2001, and has seen a lot of challenging situations.  But when a co-worker was diagnosed with leukemia, Kristin stepped up with her colleagues to take action to help fight the disease.

“We came together as a department to help her as much as we could, and then we decided, ‘Why don’t we do the Light the Night walk, and help everyone else?’” she recalls.  “We did anything we could think of to fundraise.  We had a lot of people that just crawled out of the woodwork – lots of people stepped up and helped!  It changed the department; it made us more of a family, and not just co-workers.”

She still likes to volunteer any way she can.  “I have recently started coaching with Girls on the Run, which is so much fun.  I choose to go and help build on the Habitat for Humanity Days on 9/11. It’s great to see all the different hospitals out there representing their teams and their families.”
