Tucson Summer Heat Kills

The heat of the summer months is extremely dangerous in the Old Pueblo as the Arizona Daily Star reports today in  Heat the killer of 2 hikers, autopsies show.

TMC’s own emergency department Dr. Scott Lowry warns that “It’s so dry and the humidity is so low, so every time you take a breath you’re losing water.”

Everyday area emergency departments are dealing with heat-related illnesses in  patients, including many who are otherwise fit and healthy.

Be careful out there — protect yourself and your loved ones. The Star article includes tips and strategies for surviving the heat. Please heed them.
