Congratulations to Tucson Medical Center’s Breastfeeding Support Program for earning renewal of its prestigious Care Award for Excellence in Lactation services.
The IBCLC Care Award is awarded only to those programs that employ certified lactation consultants (IBCLC), offer lactation services 5-7 days per week, and provide yearly education to medical staff based on evidence-based guidelines. In addition, the program must have completed a project in the previous two years with the goal of protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding.
TMC’s Breastfeeding Support Program is the only recipient of the Care Award in Southern Arizona. The TMC Lactation Team works hard all year to support and promote breastfeeding as the best choice for the health of TMC families – and they deserve special recognition during World Breastfeeding Awareness Week, Aug. 1-7.
