RED Award for top healthcare project goes to TMC’s new tower

tucson-medical-centerTucson Medical Center’s $100 million Orthopaedic and Surgical Tower, completed last spring, has won the RED Award as the best healthcare project in the state for 2013. 

AZRE magazine presented the 9th annual RED – Real Estate and Development – Awards Feb. 26 in Phoenix, with hundreds of people gathered at the Arizona Biltmore to recognize the year’s best commercial real estate projects in Arizona. Trophies were handed out in 13 project categories, and all award winners will be featured in the March-April issue of AZRE Magazine.TMC Team at RED Awards

TMC’s award in the healthcare category honors the developer (Tucson Medical Center), contractor (J.E. Dunn Construction), architect (Hobbs + Black Architects) and brokerage team (Hill International). TMC took occupancy of the 200,000-square-foot, four-story addition last May, with 24 new operating rooms (including two high-tech hybrid rooms), 40 new orthopaedic inpatient rooms, and a large first-floor lobby and clinic space for Tucson Orthopaedic Institute.
