Epic Software Systems Analyst

In a 21st century hospital, clinical care relies on advanced technology and highly sophisticated computer programs for documentation and coordination. Tucson Medical Center was the first hospital in the region to go totally digital and stop using old paper-based medical documentation, back in 2010, and continues to make process improvements in its electronic medical record system.

“We support the system and keep it functioning and up-to-date,” said Allan Curry, systems analyst for the Epic software that forms the foundation for TMC’s OneChart electronic medical record. “Much of our work involves responding to requests and suggestions from the end users at the bedside. It’s gratifying when we can make the OneChart system work more effectively, and then get a thank-you from the doctors and nurses who are using the system.”

Curry has been working with the TMC Information Services team for three years, bringing his expertise in problem-solving to help TMC take better care of its patients.

“Allan is intelligent, industrious and innovative,” said Dr. Brian Cammarata, TMC’s chief medical information officer. “His dedication to numerous projects, including sepsis surveillance, has improved care at TMC. He is a highly valued member of the team.”
