For Rachel Tineo, heavy lifting became a fun part of Living Well

1stMeet1stPlaceThe hard work of getting fit has paid off with competitive success for a TMC employee.

Rachel Tineo, part of TMC’s Information Services team, had been training for just a couple of months before she tackled her first power lifting competition recently, along with her colleagues in the Tucson Barb Bell Club. She took first place for her age category and weight class at the West Coast Nationals presented by NASA (Natural Athlete Strength Association), known for strict testing to rule out steroid or drug use.

Tineo had already been recognized over the past year as a “poster child for wellness” in TMC commercials and blogs about Living well in the workplace and beyond.

“Ever since the TMC commercial I have been even more driven to continue to inspire and motivate others in moving their body,” she said. “Being part of this club has taken that inspiration and motivation to a whole new level for me. I got to see other lifters in their 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s lift some serious weight. All I could think about is how amazing they were!”
