A national hospital review firm has again recognized Tucson Medical Center as a Community Value Five-Star Hospital for 2016.
Cleverley + Associates created its Community Value Index to assess a hospital’s performance in four areas: financial strength and reinvestment, cost structure, pricing, and quality of care. The CVI suggests that hospitals with low costs, low charges, strong reinvestment and good quality performance are operating with a high degree of community value. Hospitals that achieved CVI scores within the top 20 percent of all hospitals within their group were designated as Community Value Five-Star Hospitals.
“We are proud to receive the Five-Star Community Value designation,” said Steve Bush, TMC senior VP and Chief Financial Officer. “At TMC our primary focus is to provide quality health care services, while at the same time, we strive to keep our charges and costs below local, regional and national norms.”
Nine Arizona facilities are on the Five-Star list, but TMC is the only Five-Star hospital in Southern Arizona.
