“This is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer in a supportive, interactive team environment and provide support to patients, families and staff members as part of the care team at Peppi’s House,” said Krista Durocher, TMC Hospice volunteer coordinator. “Front desk volunteers work in the hub of the unit answering phones, greeting guests and helping staff with various tasks.”
Requirements for the volunteer position include:
- Complete application
- Successfully go through interview process
- Completion of computerized hospice training as well as classroom training.
- Complete 3 orientation shifts
- Commit to fulfilling one 2-4 hour volunteer shift per week on the inpatient unit. Weekend/evening shifts available.
Hospice is a philosophy of providing a comprehensive program that addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients and their families. Hospice volunteers are central to this philosophy and are a key part of our hospice team.
