Interested in buying a home?
Get the information you need on mortgages, down payment assistance programs and credit score management at a free event Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the University of Arizona Student Union.
The Homebuyer Expo, hosted by Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and Council Member Steve Kozachik, will feature lenders and housing professionals, who will be on hand to answer questions and share expertise in breakout sessions.
Admission is free and anyone interested in learning more about buying a home is encouraged to attend.
“As a community hospital, Tucson Medical Center appreciates the social and economic benefits that come with building a foundation of stable homeownership – for both individuals as well as the larger community,” said Julia Strange, vice president of community benefit for TMC. “We appreciate the work of the Mayor and Council member Kozachik in supporting a healthy housing sector.”
Mayor Rothschild said the program is part of his Help for Homebuyers initiative. “I want to see Tucsonans take advantage of the programs that are out there to help renters become homebuyers, and there’ll be a lot of free information and expertise at this expo.”
Ward 6 Council Member Steve Kozachik said the event is coming as neighborhoods surrounding campus have seen a significant increase in rentals. “To the extent we can turn that trend around and encourage owner-occupied homes, we will also see enhanced quality of life for all who life in those areas. This expo will be an important step towards achieving that end.”
The event, which runs from 3:30 – 7 p.m., will be held at the University of Arizona Student Union Grand Ballroom, 1303 E. University Blvd., on the third level.
