Tucson Medical Center last fall attempted to land a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records with the World’s Largest Hand Sanitizing Relay.
How do you top an event in which more than 640 participants formed a continuous moving chain through Marshall Conference Center at the hospital?
With a video – written, sung and performed by TMC staff – designed to raise awareness about protecting patients from hospital associated infections.
Hand washing is simple, fast and effective and it remains one of the best ways to reduce germs and prevent the spread of illness.
“Our job as a community hospital is to provide the safest, highest quality care to our patients,” said Judy Rich, TMC’s CEO and president.
“Not only do we take that role very seriously, but we want our patients to be empowered to be partners in their care. That includes making sure patients know it’s OK to ask if their care provider if they’ve washed their hands and that they have the information they need to practice safe hand hygiene in their own environments as well.”
